Picketts Seafood – Fresh, Local Seafood and Market in New Smyrna Beach, FL

The word on the street was/is that this place is headed for stardom in the foodie world and man, did they not disappoint. We took our time making it selections, with the help of Matt Pickett, and decided on a lb of stone crab, cracked and cold, a little more than a 1/2 lb of lightly blackened and pan fried triggerfish and some of their smoked shrimp dip which we were able to taste and based on the sample, picked instead of the fish dip which we didn’t sample but will next time. The stone crab was perfect, succulent, and just amazing. Best I have ever had, served with drawn butter and mustard sauce that enhanced the flavor of the crab. The trigger fish was easily the freshest fish I have ever had. Days later I can still taste it in my imagination. Fluffy and sweet and melt in the mouth goodness. I could eat this every day. Served with well fried French fries and cole slaw that was also homemade. The shrimp dip was mind blowing. So much shrimp and the smoky flavor and burn of the jalapeños. I may go back today to try out what they are serving today. Cool vibe, and the service was great too. A very good value, not cheap but we felt like we got our money’s worth and will be back soon. Thanks Matt and Samantha! You have a winner!

Pickett’s Seafood is everything a beach town restaurant should be. You can feel the love, time and effort poured into this place by the Pickett family. The seafood is incredibly fresh and exactly what NSB deserves. If you want fresh and local seafood from a true fishing family with decades of experience on the water, go to Pickett’s!

Hours are 11am to 8pm for the restaurant and 11am-6pm for the fresh fish market. Food was amazing, coleslaw was fresh, fried fish sandwich was huge, great tasting fries, tried the coconut shrimp appetizer also and it was great. Another in our party had the yummy blackened fish sandwich and onion rings. tried the fabulous blackened shrimp dip too!! It’s great to have a local place to get fresh fish!! We loved it! Wine selection looked great, we plan to try it on our next visit!!!

All I can say is WOW!!! From the food to the service to the atmosphere it was top tier!!!!! From the minute we walked in to the moment we left it was amazing. We went for dinner and it was nothing short of excellent. The food was so fresh. I ordered the flounder sandwich and was able to pick out my cut of fish right out of the seafood case! Later I was informed that the fish I chose was caught less than 24hrs prior and they served it grilled,blackened,or fried. The staff was super friendly and very informative. Whether you want to sit and dine or grab an order to go Picketts seafood is my new #1 choice for fresh seafood in NSB!!!!

Super cute fish restaurant/market place! My little boy loved seeing the big fresh fish in the case, he wanted to try it all. The clam chowder was thinner than expected but rich and delicious! We got some fresh fish from the case, but the scallops cooked in a special lemon garlic sauce was the favorite of the group. We will be sure to come back to try new fish they get fresh (along with another bowl of clam chowder). You pay at the counter when you order and then find a table, we liked this because it is convenient when dining with kids.

We are happy to see a new seafood restaurant in New Smyrna Beach! I had the crab rolls (plural) with fries and coleslaw for $16.99. They were absolutely delicious. My husband says the crab cake sandwich was equally good!

Great place for fresh seafood. Everything was exceptional. Shrimp was a standout. Fresh, lightly breaded not oily at all with super cold and fresh cocktail sauce. Cold beer and outstanding service. Come on by and get the catch of the day!
